Planned Maintenance Monday 18th April at Global Switch
Posted by Support Administrator on 14 April 2011 10:00 PM

Background:

Engineers will be installing a new MPLS Provider Edge (PE) router in our Global Switch (GS) Docklands Point of Presence (POP) in order to increase resilience and capacity.

Impact:
This planned maintenance will be service affecting for several customers who are connected to the Global Switch POP. Other services will be “at risk” but not impacted.

This maintenance will affect the following services:
• Internet Transit – “At Risk” only

• MPLS Core Network – “At Risk” only

• Customers within GS POP using Layer-3 Interconnects

• DSL customers with an @n4dsl username will experience service disruption

During the maintenance the MPLS Core & Internet Transit networks will lose some resiliency, although there should be no noticeable impact as a result.

Customers who have interconnects terminating within Global Switch, and who will be impacted for the duration of the maintenance, will be emailed directly by the end of 04/04/11.

Maintenance Window:

At Risk – Monday 18th April 22:30 – 01:30

Downtime (for those customers at Global Switch) is expected to be less than 10 minutes between 22:30 – 23:30.

Our network operations engineers will closely monitor the work and will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to you. If you have any problems with your connection after this time, or if you have any questions regarding the maintenance at any point, please visit support.lanquest-hosting.net

While it is important for us to perform maintenance such as this to ensure the quality of our network, we do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to our customers. We appreciate your patience and welcome any feedback.

Regards,
